So with the various dates previously proffered we now have 2nd, 3rd June according to the AM magazine.

How are we all supposed to plan our lives with things keep changing and nobody planning well ahead?

We have already arranged our VIAGRA TOUR to Holland that weekend so despite having supported the concours as a participant and judge for many years l will miss it. VIAGRA here we come!

Get a grip people!

I'm afraid that this date is so late in the year it could be a problem for me too as I'm arranging a trip to Denmark and Sweden (via The Bridge). I have been a Judge for the past few years - looks like I'll be taking a break!

I'm with GWP on this one.  Literally.

We are all on the DB7 weekend, which has happened for a number of years around that time and been well documented in AM news each year, so what are the management doing? I will not be able to enter, or judge.
Perhaps they should have run this by the judges before booking it, as I think they will be struggling to find enough judges......then again they might not need very many as the number of entrants are also likely to be low?

I have written to the CoM suggesting that they consider having the Spring Concours at the Oulton Park Race Meeting on the 12th May. Killing 2 birds with one stone comes to mind!

I think the Autumn one will be up North

As a member of the CoM, I knew nothing of the date.
We are away on the DB7 weekend.

Well I hope they don't move it just a week either way. At the moment I will be home and able to attend.

Shouldn't the Spring Concours be in spring. June is summer in my book. [confused]
Still burning hydrocarbons just for fun!

I know it was done in days long gone by, but to me Concours and Racing don’t mix, and shouldn’t be.

Seems as if nobody has got a grip of this if even COM don't know.

As has been said, how can the Spring Concours be in the Summer?

The date has been pushed as the club hasn't done it's organising in time?

First they bugger up the forum and now the concours.  We got the good guys to re-do the forum, maybe the same is needed for concours organisation.

Timing of the Concours doesn’t look great with quite a few competing events already planned. Who’d have thought, the Spring Concours being held in the summer. Must be global warming 😁

Or they are using the astronomical not meteorological calendar.

Bournemouth Boy, you need to book soon for the DB 7 Weekend, I booked a few weeks ago and there weren't many rooms left in the hotel. I have done a couple of these weekends and they are fantastic fun, hope to see you there.

You need to contact Malcolm Symonds, his details are in the latest AMOC news

Does anyone from SoCom, who have now been given Concours, participate on this forum.  Read it even?

Our Chairman (who gave SoCom the Concours) used to be active and post regarding the Concours (and other things, such as Sunnyside!!!!) - but the last time he posted was in January on the defunct site.

Do Bonhams know what they are negotiating over?

Where will the Autumn Concours be?  I assume that's been booked too [rolleyes]

Thy thoughts resonate with my humble feelings, m' Lord.

Such a shame.

I am on the Social Committee. I have forwarded the comments made about events it clashes with on to: M Aylott, D Scantlebury, M Donoghue and T Butcher, so they are aware.

Bonhams - not sure what the question is.

Autumn - Although I'm not involved in organising it, I'm expecting it to be in the Lake District.  Discussions were ongoing with 2 possible locations.

Thank you Anne.  I didn't think Mark D was on SoCom.

Bonhams - The two statements in AM News says that SoCom is in negotiations with Bonhams for them to have the auction on the Saturday with the Concours on the Sunday.  Is the date for the benefit of Bonhams, or Bonhams hitching a ride on the previous success of the Concours?  If the latter, the timing next year may be a problem and they might be in for a shock.

Autumn - Lake District will be nice.  It's a bit late to be discussing bookings though, surely.  Shouldn't this have been done a year ago?

I suspect that Mark D was cc'd in his capacity as Deputy Chairman.
