Thanks for that Bruno. Good to see Jean looking on form and the MK111s, too.

What a great turnout, and a good number of older cars that are normally in deep slumber in January.

Thanks for sharing.

We were late arrivals, my car is in some of the pictures but the wife and I aren't; we must have been inside the pub with a bowl of hot soup - it was a tad chilly. I was a little surprised that there were no post-VH models there.

Just thought I'd add a picture of the "oily bits" of one of the Mk III's (except they aren't in the least oily). First time I'd ever seen black SU's

Hi Paul, lots of black SUs on most Pre DB4 Astons, it was also an option on the DB4 along with a Show spec underbonnet.
Pardon my ignorance but what is a VH model, we only know them as Gaydon models

Hi Chris and Jean,

I didn't know that about the colour option on SUs - as I said, I'd only ever seen the self-coloured aluminium dashpots and bodies.

"VH" refers to the "Vertical/Horizontal" architecture that the Gaydon models used, with extensive use of aluminium extrusions and castings in the structure which were bonded and riveted, making it easier to scale the vehicles up or down in size. The VH also formed part of the internal AML project code names; for instance, the Vantage family had the code VH2, so a 16MY facelift would have been VH216. The VH designation was dropped for the DB11 and on. So by saying "...post-VH cars" I was referring to the DB11 family, the new Vantage and DBS Superleggera, which are obviously still all Gaydon cars.
