Jane asked me what I wanted for my (milestone) birthday and I said an Aston Martin.  She said OK!
Found it online in San Francisco, drove it home to Boston suburbs in 5-1/2 days. AstonMartinInMark'sGarage2019-04-24.jpg

Nice choice in model, but I may be a little biased!

At the end of 2015 I was thinking of buying a very nice 5 series Alpina. My good lady vetoed this but said you can get an Aston, the rest is history. I still smile every time I get in my i6.

Happy Birthday and congrats - looks beautiful.

My wife did something similar for my 50th (and you may wish not to share this with Jane 😉) but it proved to be even more expensive than my wife expected it to be. We now have Astons number 5 and 6 parked in the garage 😱😱 😂. Mind you - we have had some fantastic times along the way 😊

A few days after I had sold my 1926 R-R 20hp Tourer, my wife and I were in Wilmslow doing some shopping. We parked on Water Lane and prepared to walk to Hoopers when we passed the Stratstone showroom full of Astons. Sally said to me - what do you propose to replace the Rolls with? I said I hadn't thought about it yet. She replied "well what about an Aston Martin?" That was 7 years ago - I'm already on my second one! I've been to France a few times, Germany also, Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden - not to mention Scotland and Wales!! Wonderful driving memories!

All sold I’m afraid.

The first was a V8V 4.3l which I sold to get a 4.7l on a fantastic deal and the height of the financial crisis. Both SS cars and whilst great on the move not great when manoeuvring. Then did our first tour and wife fancied an open top - and who was I to disagree so we got the DB9V. Whilst fun always felt it was a little too quiet, even with the fuse removed, so when the V12VR was announced we got that. Fantastic car, now in very good hands, but that had to go when the V12 AMR came along. The Flugplatz V12VSR came along to help keep the mileage down on the other one - not too sure how I got away with that one 😂 but probably didn’t because my wife and I are pretty aligned on this sort of stuff.

The only one I regret not being able to keep was the V12VR - now three V12V’s in the garage would really have been something!!

Now how do I persuade her on the DBS Volante 🤔😂🤣😂. It may take some time 😁
