Interesting that the DB4 Zag Replica didn't sell.  Anyone able to tell me where the bidding topped out?

Th bidding finished at £650,000. I'm amazed it didnt sell at that price.

Speaking to the WS chaps afterwards they felt it was an £840k car!

That would have been their bill.

I just saw some photos on the main AMOC site. Does anyone have some photos of the Casino Royale DB5?

I was a bit surprised that the V8s sold for relatively low prices. Poor condition or too many
around of these?

There's a more informative list linked from the bottom of this article.  http://www.amoc.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=487&Itemid=118

V8s seem to be on a bit of a nose dive at the moment. Must be CJ and his fellow Bond wannabes chasing after DB5s!

There are two shots of the Casino Royale DB5's, but (and this IS to sound dismissive) that are simply LHD silver birch DB5. I'd love to see a DB5 restored these days NOT in silver birch. But maybe not in the orange that the works are currently restoring a DB4 DHC in (see picture as well)

I like the photos of the weed garlanded Vanqhuisheseses (I feel it should be vanqui...)

Why do they keep them? I thought they would have been dismatled after testing. Must be a few bobs worth of spares among the nettles.

One thing which struck me was the high prices paid for the DB Astons, which were all sold for more sometimes much more than their estimated price. Was this due to ignorance on the part of the experts or an attempt to pull in more potential buyers? In any case, prices don't seem to be settling. The biggest surprise was the DB5 basket case which sold for 52,000, 30K more than the estimate. Hope the buyer has deep pockets....

Speaking to WS after the auction revealed a full WS restoration costs £170K, and that's before you specify AC or stealth audio equipment etc.

More money than sense the buyers of those two wrecks, the DB4 would end up being a £300K car!

Even the rear lights are different. I wonder how much different the rest of the car is. (inside, etc.)

Great pics, by the way. ;D
