I've already booked my EasyJet tickets

Luton to Geneva return for under £70 - but you must get your tickets as quickly as possible otherwise the price goes up

The press days are : 6 & 7 March 2007 and public days : 8 to 18 March 2007.

Thanks, will see if the wife feels like a few days in Switzerland.

LBS, the Geneva Salon can be done as a day trip from the UK.

You fly out on the 7.30 plane and back on the 17.30 - it gives plenty of time at the show

Thanks Tim, have looked up flights. Problem is to sell trip to wife will have to turn it into mini trip! Still will only cost around £46pp for flights. Find a cheap hotel somewhere and we'll be fine. Now to rehearse my sales patter!

Why not just lie to her? Say you have got meetings all day and will need to get in to work very early and will be finished late and go for the daytrip option without the missus?

You know, that might just work  ;D

Just need to check if I'm actually doing real work that week

Just leave her at home and put the money into your AM fund

Are any of you guys married? Couldn't possibly tell her porkies, I wouldn't enjoy the show. Will sort something as it would be fun to go.

Yes I am married.........to a woman who would gladly walk on broken glass with bare feet all day so as not to have to goto the Geneva Salon. She also hates AM's with a passion. I'm not even allowed to park either of mine outside of the house in case the neibours see them - I kid you not.

Needless to say, she doesn't cramp my style as we are seldom seen together

My best lie was when I bourght Eliza. I said I was thinking about it for weeks after I had done the deal - and it felt wonderful

My wife does not understand my love of Astons, but I don't understand her love of soaps, but does let me enjoy them. We went to the auction and concours this year and she came too (fortunately Hedgie was there which helped). We have argued about getting an Aston in the past but she has given up the unequal struggle!

My wife would love to go but it is a boys trip only, I take her again for a shopping trip later in year. The motorshow can be done as a day trip but each year I stay longer, unfortunately hotels are not cheap in Geneva, especially at motorshow time. I will be there the second Tuesday and Wednesday, seeking out the best cars and the best hospitality. An Aston martin stand ticket can help open the barrier gate at other marques!

How does one go about getting an Aston Martin stand ticket?

I'm assuming you promise to buy an Aston Martin (or even the whole of Aston Martin  )

It helps to be a potential buyer at least, or know one!

My dealer offered me VIP passes to get on the stand but at that time I had a V8 Vantage on order. I suspect if I buy a car from a dealer similar tickets might become available.

Getting on the stand is not difficult at Geneva. You just ask and they let you on. This is unlike the British Motor Show where there is a huge queue and a scramble. Geneva is so much more refined than any other show I have ever been to. Very civilsied

I want to see what's on offer, and the current car will be nicely tucked away in a garage for the duration!!

I seem to recall from last year, one of our continental members recommended a marvellous chateau just (15 minutes IIRC) across  the border as an alternative to the Geneva hotels, cant find the link to the old site...have a vague memory of a racing driver honeymooning there as it was so nice

It might make a great gathering place?

btw what day are you planning to go Tim?

It was me who was talking about Chateau Divonne. 10 to 15 minutes by car from the motor show.

Really wonderful place! I got married there, but of course you were talking about Alain Prost who also got married there!
If there are several AMOC members going to this place, I will be there, too!

regards

Zoran

As I recall from earlier visits Divonne also has a casino. If you don't want to by a car at the show you can always spend your money at the casino

I should make it to the press days, so if anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

Atmosphere in Geneva is great indeed.
