Hi )

I work for a company called Siemens VAI UK, based at Bournemouth Airport.  We are committed to supporting local charities, and as such, we are organising a James Bond charity event in Bournemouth on Friday Nov 17th (release date of Casino Royale) - to be held in the DeVere room of the Royal Bath Hotel.  The event is in aid of the Lewis Manning Hospice in Poole (Fifty $ense Appeal) - they provide palliative care to patients with life threatening illnesses and their carers.

The event will consist of pre-dinner drinks, a 3 course meal, casino tables (and other entertainment) and a charity auction.  I am looking for a DBS or similar to have on display at the event, and also for Aston Martin or James Bond related items for a charity auction - can anyone help?  Also, if you would like to buy a table for 10 at the event, I can also take bookings for this, or send out invitations to you.

Please feel free to call (direct line - 01202 331055, mobile - 07917 or e-mail (

I look forward to hearing from you

Best regards

Carl Dawe

Dear Carl,

The DBS will not be released at that point (it hasn't even been officially announced as a regualr model by Aston marting - only as a one-off).

A DB9 would be a barely distiguishable substitute (though the colour in the film is a bespoke colour that you won't be able to emulate).

Sadly, I am booked that day otherwise I might have considered it.

You might also try a local Aston dealer, as they might want to get a bit of custom on the back of people ogling the car.

Otherwise, a DB5 in silver birch would do as one will feature in CR.  DB5's are rare but they have now virtually all been repainted in silver birch (yawn)...

Email the local club rep via this website as he may know of a few people close by who are not on the forum.

I have a red 1971 DBS V8 (model used in Bond movie OHMSS) but the date of your event isn't very easy for me - but if you get really stuck please let me know and I'll see if I can arrange something?

What i will do, though, is donate a couple of memorabilia items for your auction which I was about to put on ebay :

- an original Moonraker film premier brochure and ticket for the UK premier at Odeon Leicester Square (yes I went!)

- a special Live & Let Die colour brochure from early seventies featuring cast & crew, photos, etc. - just a nice collectable.

my contact email is

(used to work for Siemens A&D for 12 years - maybe we met?!)
