Great pictures and thanks for posting. It really was a great weekend. Just one thing spoiled it which was the lack of performance of the AMR GTE cars. They have some work to do!! but sure they will get it sorted.

Was the discussion all about it being due to the Balance of Performance or are they genuinely down on power? What was the reason for such a poor showing?
Still burning hydrocarbons just for fun!

The BOP must be a reason as they struggling to get by 2 or 3 GTE Am cars for first hour (really depressing watching that as main GTE Pro cars racing way ahead) and were still down on top speed compared to other makes due to air intake restrictions.

The unrestricted GT3 in the Festival race (video above) was quicker than the GTE Pro's in qualifying I think. But just ti get 95 there and last was great.

They had two BOP improvements over the weekend and Porsche had one reduction and the cars were still four seconds a lap slower.  Over the two improvements was an increase in power of 30bhp, more fuel and ballast removed.

It would appear that their biggest problem was lack of speed on the Mulsanne straight where they were substantially slower than the competition.  They looked good through the corners but just lost shed loads of time on the long straight.  Both Ford and Toyota opined that was down to the aerodynamics on the car.

Will be interesting to see if the look of the car changes over the rest of the season and performance improves.

I really don't know why AML went so far in changing the basic shape so much. I was always told - if it ain't bust - don't fix it! Following fashion is always a short-term journey!
