Still interested, would have thought that accomodation and safe car parking is the main question to solve, can you help in the booking ?

To answer Dave, above, if anyone wants any help, please PM me. I'm a bit reluctant to recommend specific hotels, as what is my taste may not be yours, but I can provide a list of hotels with car parking (it will be short), and answer any questions.

On a general point, car theft is virtually unheard of and vandalism is rare.

Hi

After the initial flurry of interest, it seems to have gone a bt quiet.

Sorry if my last post seemed a bit negative - I am preprared to help if people want to come over for TT 2012, just don't want to recomend specific hotels etc (it would give my seal of approval). I will, however, give my comments on various places to stay if asked, and then people can make their own minds up.

I will be happy to arrange a couple of social events if anyone is interested, my house is only 200 yards from the start/finish line so you are guaranteed a good seat! For anyone with parking problems at their chosen hotel  I can offer a couple of spaces.

Cheers

Hi Dave

Thanks for your interest. For your information and anyone else who may want to come over:

1.    Google: Palace Hotel & Casino Isle of man

It used be the Hilton but has just changed into private ownership. It has the biggest car park of any hotel but in TT ...... If we get enough interest I may be able to arrange with the management to reserve spaces for AMOC. It's right on the Prom, and as its name suggests, has the benefit of a casino. (Shaken, not stirred). When it was opened in the 1960's, it was opened by Sean Connery, so it has form.

2.    Try next:

http://www.seftonhotel.co.im

Best hotel on the island, secure parking, but very limited. Right in the heart of things.

3.    http://www.isleofman-claremont-hotel.com/

very good hotel, but no parking. Central.

4.    http://www.mountmurray.com/

Good hotel. Good parking, but 5 miles from town.

As I have said before, don't worry about car crime. I leave my keys in when I fill the car up at a garage.

I have wanted to attend the TT for hundreds of years. Think I'd better get over there soon, before it gets outlawed.
Which means I would be interested in joining in. :-*
