This evening, 100 years ago would have been a busy one for Bamford and Martin Ltd, in their new premises in Abingdon Road.
There were also personnel changes as Robert Bamford had resigned and Kate Martin was made a Director .
However, the activity (it was a Friday night back then)  would have been preparing the car to race at Brooklands on Saturday 15th.
Lionel Martin had, it seems, hedged his bets - he'd entered the Junior Car Club meeting with the Singer 10 he'd raced pre-war
but his new car was ready.
