Totally agree. In fact how about coming to scotland????

I'll second that.

Vanquii are animals that want exercise out in their natural habitat on open roads, not sitting in NP car park and workshop.  Last time mine went to NP it came back dishevelled and downhearted (despite the big vets bill) whereas after a weekend chasing Niel's S across Scotland it was like a Vanquish reborn!

If you want to stretch its legs Russell, it sounds like the Peak District. We are about to complete a self catering  barn conversion that accommodates twelve people ( four twins and two doubles) We can offer secure parking, and reduced rates as it is not advertised yet. Just a thought. A minus is the road to us gets a bit shitty at times.

DB7 the model that saved the marque.

thats sounds cool and would depend on numbers i guess. we might need a bigger venue though and something with built in food i think.
any thoughts as to if this is a "other halves" event or a just blokey thing ?

Peak District would be good but Scotland better!  (I grew up in the former and live in the latter)

Today I discussed this with our area Rep and one of the members who organises supercar events here in Scotland.  They thought it might be a good idea  to combine a Vanquish gathering with the annual Supercar run up the west coast that will be organised again for late August next year.

i dont mind scotland but it rains more than ireland.
west coast oban and the like is pretty amazing.
would think a bit big for a first "meet" maybe ?

midlands might attract more geographically perhaps. not sure.

do a cut and paste about who fancies it first and where they live.  we can maybe see if this tells us something
i will start

As a relative local, here are some thoughts on Cotswolds
For: scenery, nice hotels, attractive towns & villages, things to do
Against: it's a honeypot, busy main roads, narrow minor roads, not far between villages & towns, nanny speed limits, not good road surfaces

Drove to Asda and back--15 mile round trip. Glorious day and could well be a while before we get another---most enjoyable--the speed limiter in the passenger seat did squeak a few times but I think I got away with it!!

Well what about that, how pleasingly Scotland centric so far!

Maybe we should have it in Boat of Garten or Aviemor with a trip across the Lecht?  Mr Salmond will be pleased it could be bring in much needed foreign currency in 2014.

Depending on when during 2014 you're planning your Scottish National Vanquish Day at least two of you could need to sort out a Visa and whatever currency they will be using in future!

Maybe this needs to put in or at least refered to (linked) in the Newport Pagnell Vanquish section.

I must admit I am very surprised at the lack of interest from our fellow Vanquish owners. Such a unique car and a great opportunity to get some together!
