Jeroen, I just looked at your first posting and saw that a supercharged Vantage does indeed qualify so don't bother to reply. I really must engage my brain (Or drink less Remy Martin).

All of you who registered an interest in the VIAGRA Event 2008 beware!

I think it would be better if the word "VIAGRA" isn't mentioned in the e-mails we are sending eachother anymore. Nothing to do with raising suspicion/expectations with our other halves, but today I received the first e-mail from one of you which my computer qualified as "possible spam"  .

Maybe the same happened to one of you, so it might be wise to check your spam-account to see if you've missed some correspondence. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is something we hadn't foreseen when we chose this catchy name for our event  ;D.

We would be delighted to publish an article in AM Quarterly if someone could write one and supply some suitable hi-res photos.

The copy date for the next issue after this event will be the middle of May. Please do let me know if someone is planning to provide an article so that we can include it in our production schedule.

That's what we in the Netherlands call an offer you can't refuse. Thank you very much. It will give the Virage (and its offspring) some much deserved publicity. I'm sure that some high resolution pictures can be arranged, Tim C being one of the possible participants  ;D. I presume you added suitable so we know beforehand that pictures of Russell in his Spiderman outfit won't be published?

Again, many thanks for your kind offer.

FAQ regarding the VIAGRA Event 2008.

1. Question: "How many tow trucks will be available?"

Answer: The organisers strive to achieve a one-on-one ratio.

top response and i think sums up the nature of any virage and derivitaives event.
VIAGRA. top stuff.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case, coincidence ? i think not.

Shouldn't that be 'Viagra and deviants event'?

Sorry, I didn't do that yet, because people don't have to commit themselves this early. But since you ask, the following people have expressed an interest.

Tim C: V8 Volante LWB
Lawrie: Virage Volante
Astro: Virage Volante 6.3 Works Service Vantage style body conversion / V8 Coupe
Koen: Virage Volante
Marc: Virage Volante
Russell: Virage Volante 6.3 Works Service Sheep in Wolves Clothing conversion (aka 6.3 Cosmetic)
Geewizzpip: Virage
Milog: Virage Volante
Jeroen: Virage

And maybe some people whose names we can't disclose, as well as the odd partycrasher...

Count me in as a gatecrasher/partycrasher.
No Virage I'm afraid but a V8OI. If that doesn't run then the family run-around (if it has an engine in it by then), failing that then a rusty TR6. If that has fallen to pieces, then I'll come on my bicycle (this is the Netherlands after all  ) ... and who thought Astons were hard work to keep maintained

Exactly what I was thinking some days ago, so I took the liberty of sending the info on to an AMOC member that I know and who has a very nice specimen of these (but who's currently not a member of the forum).

Again, the best of luck / success with this event!

I certainly did (thanks), but I couldn't think of a suitably witty reply at the time. "'Er indoors" was somewhat concerned about the e-mail header ... still not sure if she believes my explanation (honestly Light of my Life, it's got something to do with cars  ! :-[).

Looking forward to meeting you all in 2008 and admiring your wonderful Virage & Virage derivatives.

Mvg, DV8.

The itinerary of the event makes the purchase of the 7 litre Virage at Byron's even more tempting!

funny enough i keep looking at that wondering how its rated as its an odd car i guess. it isnt a V550 its a bit of a one off but i am drawn to it. i am not even sure if its rated higher than a normal virage that hasnt been tinkered with. anyone else have any comments or thoughts about if you would buy it. im sure at some time i have exchanged comments with the owner or past owner but now cant remember who it was.

That's a pity. You would have been very welcome indeed. Maybe next year (the 2009 Event really will be something!)?

Where is our man from Latvia who could blow us all away the same way Philmw could?

It's certainly a lot of car for the money and very unique. I would change the steering wheel though!
